Ramneek Gupta Partner, Battery Ventures
Ramneek joined Battery in 2006 and focuses on investments related to India in the Technology, Financial Services, Media, Education and Specialty Retail sectors. He currently works with High Mark, TechProcess, Tejas Networks and Travelguru. Prior to Battery, Ramneek spent over three years as a Principal at ITU Ventures. At ITU, he was responsible for investment activities in the communications and semiconductor sectors, and worked closely with Hier Design (acquired by Xilinx) and PowerSiCel (acquired by Advanced Power).
Earlier, Ramneek was a Design Engineer at TiVo Inc., where he worked on the design team for the Series 2 DVR. Before TiVo, he was with PMC Sierra and worked on system design as part of the carrier switching division. Ramneek holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, where he graduated at the top of his class, and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.

Mohanjit Jolly Executive Director, DFJ India
Mohanjit Jolly is the Executive Director of DFJ India. Mohanjit relocated to India in September, 2007 to establish the DFJ India office and help manage DFJ's India portfolio. Mohanjit currently serves on the Boards of Reva, Mchek, Canvera, Cleartrip, Attero, Seventymm, and Naseeb Networks.
Mohanjit Jolly has spent the last ten years working with and investing in technology startups. Prior to DFJ, Mohanjit was Managing Director at Garage Technology Ventures, a seed and early stage venture capital firm. While at Garage, Mohanjit worked with over 30 companies, including LeftHand Networks, PureSight (BCGI), Jibe Networks (CTRX), Qumu, Thermoceramix, Kaboodle (Acq: Hearst Media) and SimplyHired. Prior to joining Garage, Mohanjit was part of the strategic planning group at Mattel where he helped launch the Mattel/Intel joint venture, Intel Play. He also spent several years in both engineering and business development roles with Itek Optical Systems, a manufacturer of high-resolution reconnaissance systems for both military and commercial use. While earning his M.B.A from the Anderson School at UCLA, Mohanjit helped launch ViaSpace, a technology incubator in Southern California in conjunction with Caltech and Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Mohanjit earned a B.S. and M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT, with a specialization in electric propulsion systems.

Jishnu Bhattacharjee Vice President, Nexus India Capital
Jishnu Bhattacharjee is a Vice President with Nexus India Capital, a leading venture capital firm that invests in early-stage and early-growth companies addressing large existing or potential market opportunities in India or globally. Jishnu's interests include software and services, media, internet, mobile, systems and clean-tech.
Prior to Nexus India Capital, Jishnu has been involved with a prominent venture capital firm and hi-technology start-up in silicon-valley. Most recently he worked as an associate at Foundation Capital. Prior to that, he worked in engineering management and product management roles at a communication systems start-up, Scintera Networks and a leading circuits and systems company, Maxim Integrated Products.
Jishnu received an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he ran the Venture Capital Club and South Asian Students Association and co-led GSB Principal Investing Conference. In addition to MBA, Jishnu received an MS, EE from Georgia Institute of Technology and a BTech from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He has more than twelve US patents issued and has authored six IEEE papers. Jishnu is a member of IEEE and is actively involved with TIE, the largest non-profit organization helping and mentoring entrepreneurs in India and Silicon-Valley.

Shawn Cole (Moderator) Assistant Professor of Finance, Harvard Business School
Shawn Cole is an assistant professor in the Finance Unit at Harvard Business School, where he teaches the second half of the required finance course in the MBA program.
His research examines corporate and household finance in emerging markets, with a focus on banking, microfinance, insurance, and the relationship between financial development and economic growth. Before joining the Harvard Business School, Professor Cole worked as an assistant economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He has also served as chair of the endowment management committee of the Telluride Association, a non-profit educational organization.
He received a Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2005, where he was an NSF and Javits Fellow, and an A.B. in Economics and German Literature from Cornell University.
