P. Anandan is the managing director of Microsoft Research India. Microsoft Research India, which began operating in January 2005, conducts basic research in computing and engineering sciences relevant to Microsoft Corp.’s business and the global IT community, with a special focus on technology for emerging markets and underserved communities, digital geographics, mobility and networks, multilingual systems, rigorous software engineering, cryptography and security, applied mathematics, and algorithms research.Top

Alok Aggarwal Chairman & Founder, Evalueserve
Alok is a co-founder of Evalueserve (EVS). Prior to this, Alok was the Director of Emerging Business Opportunities for IBM Research Division Worldwide. In this capacity, he headed IBM's India Research Laboratory. There he was managing a team of 55 researchers involved in the research and development of major IBM products and technologies, including those in e-commerce, supply chain management, natural user interface, speech recognition, networking software, data mining and media mining products as well as systems management.
Alok received his B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and his PhD in Computer Science from the Johns Hopkins University.
He has published over 50 research papers and 10 patents, and has received 2 Outstanding Invention Awards.

Farzana Haque Business Head – Large Accounts SBU, TCS
Farzana is the Business Head - Large Accounts SBU at TCS, a leading global information technology company with over US$6 Billion in revenues. The Large Accounts SBU at TCS has leading brand names as its clients.Prior to taking on this role, she was based in New York and was part of the e-business vertical at TCS,where she was an instrumental part of a team that helped grow that business from its inception. Farzana began her career with the TATA Group in Mumbai as a management trainee.
In recognition of her leadership at TCS, Farzana was recently nominated to the World Economic Forum as a "Young Global Leader" 2008. The Young Global Leader, recognizes the top 250 young leaders from around the world for their professional accomplishments, their commitment to society and their potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world. She was recently profiled by CNBC-TV 18 in the “Young Turks” series which profiles India’s next generation business leaders. Farzana is also the recipient of the "INDIRA Super Achiever Award 2008" in recognition of her outstanding contribution to her organization.Farzana is a Charter member of TiE.
Farzana is a frequent speaker at business schools around the globe and India on topics covering leadership, building global brands, and innovation. She is passionate about social development in India and works with NGO’s and foundations in order to further the cause, besides being on the foundations board.

Colin Gounden CEO, Grail Research; Director, Monitor Group
Colin Gounden is the CEO and founder of Grail Research, the leading global strategic research firm. He is also a Senior Partner of Monitor Group and serves on the global Monitor Group Board of Directors. He brings a strong global research and publication background to the CEO position of Grail Research. In the mid-1990s, Colin was co-owner of a UK data business, as well as a partner in a consulting firm advising clients such as Euromoney Publications and Harvard Business School Publishing.
Colin has worked across a variety of industries over the past 16 years and has developed particularly deep expertise in the fields of Life Sciences and IT.
Colin is a frequent author of articles related to technology and new business development and has been quoted in publications such as The Guardian, The Times, Knowledge Management Magazine, and the Financial Times. He also works closely with Monitor’s $2.5Bn private equity fund supporting mid-sized (<$1Bn in revenue) portfolio companies. Colin currently serves on the advisory board of Safecore, an electronic communications compliance firm serving the financial services sector, and formerly as an observer on the board of The Yankee Group.
Mr. Gounden started his career as a technologist with IBM in Paris, Mexico and throughout the US before co-founding a technology services firm in London in 1996. He went on to grow his firm to 120 professionals in London, Amsterdam, Boston and New York, eventually relocating to Boston to become President of the US operations. He personally advised senior executives at leading firms such as BZW, JP Morgan, and State Street Global Advisors, Royal Dutch / Shell, and American Express. He went on to sell his firm for $97M in 1999.
Colin graduated from Harvard University in biochemistry and molecular biology and has published research in the field.

Lakshmi Iyer (Moderator) Economist, , Government and the International Economy Unit , HBS
Lakshmi Iyer is an economist in the Business, Government and the International Economy Unit at Harvard Business School. Her primary research fields are political economy and development economics, with a special emphasis on property rights institutions. She has published papers on the historical and current property rights institutions in developing countries such as India, Vietnam and the Philippines, and is currently analyzing the impact of urban housing reforms in China. Her ongoing research also examines other legal and political institutions such as electoral rules, the division of authority between politicians and bureaucrats and the legacy of colonial rule.
Lakshmi Iyer teaches Business, Government and the International Economy in the first year MBA curriculum, and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.Top
