The panel will explore the benefits and challenges of being an Indian operating abroad. We will discuss the career trajectories of our panelists and how they feel their Indian backgrounds and network helped them succeed.

The following are the panelists:

	Dr. Chirinjeev Kathuria Entrepreneur, MD, US Senate Candidate in Illinois Chirinjeev Kathuria, M.D., M.B.A. has measurable success in building businesses that impact world economies and shift business models. Dr. Kathuria has co-founded and helped build many businesses, which have generated shareholder wealth and jobs. Dr. Kathuria and affiliated companies have been featured in many TV shows and media publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The Economist, New York Times Magazine, Chicago Sun-Times, CNN, The Today Show, BBC, Times of India, etc. Dr. Kathuria was a US Senate Candidate in Illinois. Prior to co-founding the companies listed below Dr. Kathuria helped setup Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking operations in India. Dr. Kathuria was a Director and a major shareholder of X-Stream Networks that was sold to LibertySurf and the combined company went public on the Paris Stock Exchange. Dr. Kathuria was also a founding director in MirCorp, the world's first commercial enterprise to privately launch and fund manned space programs. PlanetSpace Inc. was co-founded by Dr. Kathuria and has teamed up with Lockheed Martin, ATK, and Boeing to bid on NASA CRS. Dr. Kathuria co-founded American Teleradiology NightHawks, Inc. which merged with NightHawk Radiology Holdings, Inc. and the combined company went public on NASDAQ. 	Amit M. Patel SVP & Head, North America Generics, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Amit Patel is a Management Council member and Senior Vice President at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, a publicly-traded (NYSE: RDY), India-based, global pharmaceutical company with $1Billion+ in annual revenue, 10000+ employees, and operations in 15+ countries. Amit’s primarily role is to serve as the Head of North America Generics, a business with $300million+ in annual revenue and 200+ employees spanning Bridgewater NJ, Charlotte NC, and Shreveport LA. Immediately prior to this role, Amit was Head of Global Corporate Development & Strategic Planning at Dr. Reddy’s, which involved select efforts in alliances, mergers & acquisitions, long-term planning, and investor relations. Amit was previously co-founder and CEO of a healthcare software startup called MedOnTime that was later acquired by CTIS, at which he served as Vice President of Corporate Development. Earlier, Amit was a strategy consultant with Marakon Associates. Amit received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a B.A.S. in Systems Engineering from the Moore School at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. 	Arun Kumar Managing Director – Asia, Firestone Industrial Products Company Arun Kumar earned a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and M.B.A. from Indiana University. Arun started his career as Sales Executive with Bharat Heavy Electricals, India, and moved on to hold senior management positions in the Indian automotive industry. He is currently Managing Director – Asia for Firestone Industrial Products Company headquartered in Indianapolis. Most recently he led his company’s efforts to set up a joint venture company in China with assembly and distribution facilities, a joint venture company in India with manufacturing facilities, and a distribution center in Singapore. His current projects include setting up an Asia Technology Center in India and a manufacturing plant in China. Arun currently serves on the Board of Directors of Firestone Industrial Products, U.S.A., Beijing Firestone Air Springs L.L.C., China, and Firestone Industrial Products India. Arun is also the Lead Director on the board of Firestone TVS Pvt. Limited, India. Arun lives in Carmel, Indiana with his wife Alka. His daughter Anisha is an undergrad in Kelly School of Business, Indiana University, Bloomington and son, Amar, is in the Harvard Business School MBA class of 2010. Top
	Deepak Malhotra (Moderator) Associate Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business School Deepak Malhotra is an Associate Professor in the Negotiations, Organizations, and Markets Unit at the Harvard Business School. He teaches Negotiation in a wide variety of executive programs including the Advanced Management Program (AMP), the Owner/President Management Program (OPM), Changing the Game, Strategic Negotiation, and Families in Business. Deepak is the author (with Max Bazerman) of the new book Negotiation Genius: How to Overcome Obstacles and Achieve Brilliant Results at the Bargaining Table and Beyond. Negotiation Genius has been awarded the 2008 Outstanding Book Award by the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution. Deepak's research focuses on negotiation strategy, trust development, international and ethnic dispute resolution, and competitive escalation, and has been published in top journals in the fields of management, psychology, and conflict resolution. Deepak has also won numerous awards for both his teaching and his research. In 2001, he was an invited fellow at the Solomon Asch Center for Study of Ethnopolitical Conflict at the University of Pennsylvania. Deepak's professional activities include training and consulting with firms across the globe in a multitude of industries, including banking, beverages, B2B, education, energy, financial management, healthcare, hotel, information technology, manufacturing, media, newspaper, non-profits, pharmaceuticals, printing, real estate, retail, and telecommunications.
